what really gets a heidi pissed off...

...are things like this: http://www.quiverfull.com/index.php & http://www.newsweek.com/id/44652?tid=relatedcl...check out their article on sterilization. here is a direct quote:

Joining the “Snipper Club” Bandwagon

This term, although offensive to some who have chosen sterilization, was nonetheless coined by those who are proud members and it has been circulating among Christian circles. Those who have not yet “joined the club” are often approached when they arrive at church with baby #2 or #3 and asked if they know what causes that and if they’ve gotten that “problem fixed” yet. But the men are not always to blame. We have witnessed two pastors in a very large, prosperous church ask their wives publicly if they could have another little one only to be adamantly told NO in front of the congregation. Could there possibly be a slight submission problem going on? But among both the men and the women, the harshest and most vocal critics of Christians who leave their childbearing up to God are other Christians who have been sterilized.

i think i have just hit the anger tipping point of no return when it comes to radical christians who say & do things like this in the name of jesus & use the bible to make women nothing more than the family breeder.

"could there possibly be a slight submission problem going on?" what the hell? seriously? yea, i think the husband asking his wife this in front of a congregation does imply that he fully doesn't grasp that her uterus is, uh, hers.

so if these women want to have 18 kids & counting, go for it! as long as they want to, ya know? this makes me sick to think about it going on in this country. anti-feminist movement... DOI! i'm going to explode. i know my pregnancies weren't the easiest & that may skew my perspective a bit...but if wes wants a 3rd baby, he has two options: surrogate mother/another woman or adoption. i do hope he chooses option 2, of course. but i don't see that as a submission issue at all! come on. i am just so angry after reading this....

anyway. we did have addy's appointment to talk about her speech & she has been referred to a speech therapist at children's hospital. they are also going to check her hearing, but since she follows commands & doesn't appear to have any ear problems, we think this is not the issue. apparently her problem is called "expressive speech delay". hopefully after a few months of speech therapy, she will quickly catch up...b/c she is a bright little socially adapted girlie.

& amelia is getting her 2nd tooth already! poor girl, i think she will be on motrin for the rest of this month.

okay, i just need to eat some ice cream or something to calm myself down.
